
Service and Mission Report 2009
The Service and Mission Committee promotes, organizes and supports many activities throughout each year.
A Mission Yard Sale in the Spring of each year raises money to help defray some of the expense for domestic and international mission trips.
The following is a list of local, domestic, and
international service and mission activities that members of the
congregation have participated in this past year.
Local: Good Shepherd Kitchen,
Loaves & Fishes, Meals on Wheels, CROP Walk, Bloodmobile, maintain Helping
Hand Fund, Habitat for Humanity, Girl & Boy Scout Programs, health kits for
women’s shelter.
Domestic: Appalachia Service
Project (ASP), West Virginia Ministry of Advocacy and Workcamps (WVMAW),
Youth- Timothy Project in Asheville, NC; and Louis & Susan Sutton’s ministry
in Philadelphia (WEC).
International: Operation
Christmas Child Shoeboxes; Heifer International contributions for Tim &
Gloria Wheeler’s ministry in Honduras; Salem Presbytery’s medical mission
clinics and construction work trips to Chiapas, Mexico.
